Madeleine & Ziad
We are brother and sister, aged 32 and 34, respectively.
From a very young age, we were immersed in the flavors of Lebanese cuisine.
In fact, in 1986, our parents and uncle left Lebanon due to the war and decided to open a Lebanese restaurant in France.
Our father and uncle used family recipes to recreate homemade dishes. After 7 years, our father decided to open his own restaurant in Brussels.
So, we’ve been surrounded by the restaurant world since we were little, which sparked our passion for this profession.
Both of us graduated in Hotel Management from the Haute Ecole de Namur, and we already had a strong professional bond.
Back then, we dreamed of opening our own establishment. However, after our studies, we went our separate ways, only to reunite a few years later to create this project together.
MAZMIZ
A name that resonates with the essence of Lebanon, a joyful and memorable sound for a fresh and contemporary concept.
This name feels like an obvious choice, both in its meaning and its character.
In Lebanese dialect, Mazmiz means enjoying a selection of small dishes with colleagues, friends, family, or even alone.
A name crafted as an anagram of Madeleine and Ziad, embodying a concept brought to life by a lively and endearing sibling duo, nurtured by Lebanese cuisine since childhood.
The Concept
We wanted to create a place that reflects who we are, blending tradition with modernity.
For us, cooking is a family story. Our recipes are inspired by those from Phenicia in Woluwé-Saint-Lambert, our parents’ restaurant, who themselves drew inspiration from our aunts' recipes.
Our mission is to continue offering you this healthy and diverse cuisine while surprising you with our innovative ideas. We offer a buffet of cold and hot mezzes where you can create your own plate to eat on-site or take away.
We also have a wall fridge (GRAB&GO) stocked with Lebanese wraps, Lebanese salads, a variety of mezzes, and ready-made plates.
We simply want our customers to eat "well" and feel welcomed in a warm atmosphere.
